Description

Selectivity allows the caster to cast spells and have them only affect certain races. The caster has two options when casting this spell; either allow all races but the named one to be affected, or prevent all races but the named one from being affected.

Selectivity must be cast the action before the casting of the actual spell, or the same action as the spell. It may be used instead of a counterspell. If you are not applying it to your own spell, the other caster gets a saving throw.

The following divine spells can be affected: bane, bless, deathwatch, detect chaos/evil/good/law, invisibility to undead, protection from chaos/evil/good/law, calm emotions, enthrall, zone of truth, invisibility purge, prayer, discern lies, status, tongues, break enchantment, circle of doom, dispel chaos/evil/good/law, healing circle, antilife shell, creeping doom, forbiddance, blasphemy, dictum, holy word, repulsion, word of chaos, mass heal. Only divine spellcasters may affect divine spells.

The following arcane spells can be affected: hold portal, protection from chaos/evil/good/law, grease, sleep, color spray, arcane lock, detect thoughts, see invisibility, hypnotic pattern, scare, magic circle against chaos/evil/good/law, nondetection, sepia snake sigil, secret page, detect scrying, wall of fire, wall of ice, contagion, cloudkill, wall of iron, wall of stone, wall of force, seeming, repulsion, mass suggestion, veil, circle of death, mass haste, banishment, phase door, cube of force, mass invisibility, reverse gravity, prismatic wall, power word: blind, mass charm, otto's irresistible dance, sympathy, horrid wilting, symbol, freedom, imprisonment, gate, prismatic sphere, weird, teleportation circle, time stop. Only arcane spellcasters may affect arcane spells.

More spells may be added or some may be removed from this list, at the DM's discretion.

The range is the same as the spell it is being cast on.

A selectivity spell may also be used during magic item creation. It counts as a +1 enhancement bonus, and causes one ability of the item to act as if it were under a selectivity spell, only working or not working for one race. It may be used multiple times to make multiple abilities selective.
